El cine colombiano ha fortalecido su presencia en el entorno latinoamericano, y aunque es casi invisible en el contexto mundial, se consolida como un líder en la región y como la cinematografía con mayor crecimiento de las últimas décadas, debido, en muy buena parte, a la nueva legislación cinematográfica y a su ubicación estratégica entre el norte y el sur de América Latina. El cine colombiano ha superado su niñez y asiste hoy perplejo a su adolescencia: una época de transformación, de contrastes, de dudas y cambios de humor.
