Compilación que recoge testimonios de varios de los actores y observadores del sitio de Querétaro, suceso que se desarrolló del 9 de marzo al 15 de mayo de 1867 y apuntaló la caída del Imperio de Maximiliano, de cuyo proceso se presenta un memorándum redactado por miembros del bando republicano. Reúne documentos escritos por los oficiales Mariano Esobedo, Sóstenes Rocha (ambos liberales) y Alberto Hans (imperialista); Samuel Basch, médico de Maximiliano, y la princesa de Salm-Salm, figura próxima a la corte.

This work contains fresh information located at the Sergei Eisenstein Museum and in his personal archive, both located in Moscow, which clearly indicates that there is still more to say about the Soviet director's unfinished movie, financed by Upton Sinclair. The discovery of the first version of the screenplay as well as books on Mexico and bullfight programs enables the manner in which the film developed and was structured through short stories to be reconsidered.
