La cosa más magnífica

Jim Sturges is a typical teen in suburban San Bernardino-one with an overprotective dad, a best friend who shares his hatred of all things torturous (like gym class), and a crush on a girl who doesn't know he exists. But everything changes for Jim when a 45-year old mystery resurfaces, threatening the lives of everyone in his seemingly sleepy town. Soon Jim has to team up with a band of unlikely (and some un-human) heroes to battle the monsters he never knew existed.

Tash hides from her best friends the trouble that she is having at home, with her single mother struggling to hold three jobs and care for Tash and her brothers as her health declines.

Simon Liar, the main character in this story, perceives and expresses reality as a fantastic game for a specific aim: speaking of wolves, foxes and cats that are in his imagination. But the fantasy xhas an ephemeral character and does not materialize in its perception ; for that, Simon, the same as the readers, will have to distinguish between reality and fantasy at the appropriate moment, what happens just at the end of the story.

Set right before Sanctum, readers meet Cal, a student like most others, but what sets him apart is he has a powerful father who puts a lot of pressure on him. When Cal's nerves get the better of him, he accepts an invitation to meet an elite group of current and former students in the basement of the asylum. Once he meets the Scarlets, his life changes forever. The price for joining this group, however, is a lot higher than he can pay...
