Desde la perspectiva de la antropología social, y mediante el estudio de la obra de una selección de artistas actuales, la publicación analiza las imágenes del hombre y la mujer generadas en Andalucía durante las tres últimas décadas a través de la pintura, el vídeo y el arte de acción. Partiendo de una retrospectiva del arte plástico y visual andaluz desde el inicio del siglo XX hasta los años ochenta, este trabajo estimula la reflexión sobre qué expresiones de la masculinidad o la feminidad se transmiten actualmente a través del arte.

Summary: Ongeziene historische kijk op de Belgische koloniale periode. Carl De Keyzer en Johan Lagae selecteerden uit het archief van het Afrikamuseum in Tervuren meer dan 100 nooit eerder gepubliceerde foto's van Belgisch Congo. Deze beelden werden gekozen omwille van hun revelerende inhoud of sterke beeldkwaliteit. Tegelijk met het boek worden deze beelden ook geëxposeerd in het FotoMuseum Antwerpen van januari tot april 2010. In samenwerking met het Koninklijk Museum voor Midden-Afrika en het FotoMuseum Antwerpen.
