Acercarse a esa "historia secreta" de Mexico que es su historia de la ciencia, tiene un doble significado ya que el rescate se emprende no solo porque las obras sean textos cientificos que por serlo yacen olvidados, sino tambien porque dichos textos son mexicanos y pocas veces han provocado los desvelos de los historiadores. Se trata entonces de un doble olvido que explica en parte la actitud de la historiografia mexicana tradicional respecto del desenvolvimiento cientifico de nuestro pais.
