He composed many well-known works, and was one of the best music teachers of his time. These two Venezuelan dances have been transcribed for guitar by Alirio Diaz in standard notation only. Piano students of Latin American heritage often do not relate to the folk tunes that most methods use because the majority of those melodies do not flow with the rhythm of the Spanish language.
