By assuming a case-study Spanish-English interpretation on the financial situation of a given Spanish company, we selected a series of terms so as to compare the gradual documentary competence needed as complexity increases. A deductive approach was applied and allowed us to establish certain categories and phases to systematize the documentary procedures in Interpretation Studies.
