The charming town of Los Gatos is nestled at the base of the Santa Cruz Mountains and is sometimes referred to as the Gem City of the Foothills. It has inspired hundreds of postcard images through the years, many reflecting the areas abundance of natural beauty. As the town and surrounding area grew and prospered through agriculture, logging, and commerce, the local architecture and landmarks became popular subjects. Glimpses of everyday lifechurches, schools, houses, and businessesfurther enhanced the pictorial history the postcards represent.

La muestra se organiza en cinco secciones dedicadas a La fotografía familiar; El círculo del artista: La familia real, pintores, los Estados Unidos y el mundo del espectáculo; Estudios y vivienda; Miniaturas y álbumes fotográficos y La fotografía y su influencia en la pintura de Sorolla: Fuentes de inspiración, El encargo para la Hispanic Society y Sorolla retratando y pintando al aire libre (Pintor y modelo; Pintando al aire libre y La fotografía como herramienta de trabajo).

El cine por regiones es el título del segundo volumen que dedica Juan Felipe Leal al año de 1909 (el primero lo consagró sólo a la Ciudad de México). En él divide el autor el territorio nacional en ocho áreas geográficas, en las que agrupa la información que recogió en diversos archivos y hemerotecas acerca de las actividades cinematográficas que se llevaron a cabo en ese espacio de tiempo.
