Desconfiar de la mirada es una invitación a entender los filmes escritos y dirigidos por Fernando Vallejo y su posterior obra literaria autoficcional desde una nueva perspectiva. En lugar de centrarse en comparar la representación y el referente —como habitualmente los estudios críticos abordan el proyecto creativo de Vallejo—, este libro busca ahondar en los motivos y mecanismos utilizados en su obra cinematográfica y literaria, para que el espectador-lector dirija su mirada a cuestionar los artificios con que sus creaciones funcionan para hacernos creer su verdad.
