Knowing and Doing

El músico consciente es una obra orientada a modificar por completo la percepción que tienen maestros, padres y alumnos sobre la enseñanza-aprendizaje de la música. Paulina Derbez ha aplicado su propia experiencia para tejer una obra que es un manual de estudio y una síntesis del verdadero significado de hacer música. “Sólo si comprendemos, como ella, que la música no es ni un divertimento ni una obligación, ni un placer anodino, ni un mero despliegue técnico, sino una parte fundamental de la vida humana”, dice el escritor Jorge Volpi de este libro.

Es una obra producida por el Departamento de Redacción y Diseño, para el Instituto Guatemalteco de Educación Radiofónica, IGER.

The book proposes that self-effectiveness in the university professor is nothing else but the confidence that the teaching personnel have in their own capacity to help students to learn. This confidence can make a difference in teaching as well as in the use of didactic strategies to increase quality learning at the university level. The book also addresses the concept of a collective self effectiveness. Joining efforts and feeling part of a common project is needed in order to advance successfully at the university leve.

What began with a few letters while Wayra was still pregnant later became a pedagogical project that emphasizes the importance of education for enabling people to live well. This book also includes advice for young people on cultivating self-knowledge and transformation.
