Francisco de Goya (1746-1828) fue reconocido a una edad muy temprana como el principal artista de España y fue mejorando hasta convertirse en el retratista oficial de la Corte. Su fama se basaba en la calidad y velocidad con las que ejecutaba sus dibujos, y sus grabados poseen una delicadeza extraordinaria. El uso del claroscuro en sus Pinturas negras influenció a numerosos artistas, entre ellos Manet. Esta monografía presenta las obras fundamentales del artista, considerado hoy el padre del arte moderno.
