La obra reúne los escritos y lecciones dedicados al tema de la restauración por el autor a lo largo de los veinte años durante los cuales dirigió el "Istituto Centrale del Restauro", analizando el significado y los métodos del restauro y resaltando los criterios teóricos que han guiado las actividades del Centro.

Esta publicación trata sobre una compilación del programa, de las ideas generales y de las monografías realizadas por los alumnos, acerca de la didáctica del taller de diseño. El seminario forma parte de los cursos de la carrera de formación docente de la facultad de arquitectura, diseño y urbanismo de la universidad de buenos aires. Las clases contaron con la participación de docentes que actúan en las distintas cerras que se dictan en la facultad.
